Metro is the largest public transportation system in North America, serving the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area (GTHA) and the Montreal metropolitan area. It is one of the busiest rail systems in the world.
Metro is made up of three main lines, known as Metro North, Metro South, and Metro West, which serve six stations in Toronto and another 25 stations in Hamilton and Montreal. In addition, there are two low-level lines that do not have station stops, but connect commuters to their destinations: the Bathurst and St. Clair lines. The system is equipped with advanced technology, including the Metro Bus Way, the first public busway in Canada, which makes it easier for commuters to reach their destinations by bus.
